Does Granite Cemetery Really Need to be Sealed ?

Before the seal

Note: Not all granite countertops need to be sealed. So how to judge whether it needs to be sealed? Do a simple test: Drop a few drops of water on a granite countertop. Record the time when water penetrates into the surface. If the penetration time is less than 3 or 4 minutes, then the granite countertop needs to be sealed. If the infiltration time is long, sealing is not required.

You can also drop two drops of water onto the granite countertop and wipe it off after about 30 minutes. If the granite had been completely sealed there would have been no water damage. If there is water stain, it should be sealed.

Permeable protective agent

Permeable protectors are oily, so they penetrate deeper and faster to protect granite structures and other natural stones. These oil-based protectors protect "from the inside out". They are easy to use, so you can seal them yourself. The permeable guard is spread directly from the granite surface, preferably with a soft rag. They seep into the granite without leaving any film or coating on the surface. What does that mean? This means the inside of the stone is protected and the surface is not. Permeable protectors are sufficient for granite, but not for calcareous stones such as agate, marble, travertine, limestone, etc. These natural stones may darken, but acid can even erode the surface.
