There are two main types of cemetery headstone memorials. One flat cemetery headstone and one raised cemetery headstone. Cemetery headstones lie flat on the ground, usually made of granite or bronze, and are used to identify the deceased. Raised stones have the same identifying effect, but all rise from the ground. There are many different styles of raised stones to choose from. Your graveyard cemetery headstone rules will determine what style you can have.

Oblique tombstones are made of granite stone and can be single or double. They have angular faces and sit on a cement mat. If you want a granite base, a 4" or 6" option is available. Etched or sandblasted designs are available for slanted markings.

Granite gravestones in this style, or tombstones as they are sometimes called, come in different sizes and shapes. They consist of two parts: a horizontal granite slab base and a vertical granite slab base. Monuments are generally more expensive than other tombstones, but offer the most creative design flexibility.

Generally, a standard memorial ceremony takes at least three to four weeks to complete and place it on top of the tomb. Custom shapes and sizes will take longer as the granite blocks need to be shaped to your specifications. In some cases, the ground also needs to settle before tombstones can be placed. Climate, season and weather also play a role
