Why should we build a monument?

Why is our desire to build grave monuments so strong and lasting? What motivates our desire or need to build monuments? The simple answer comes from the word itself, the granite monuments.

The origin of the word comes from a Latin / French word "monere", which means reminder. For thousands of years, human beings have been eager to be remembered. In essence, those who remain after death bear the role of commemorating the dead. We do this to remind present and future generations of the life and achievements of a person, a society or a country.

Builders of North American monuments: a monument, large or small, vulnerable or not, is nothing more than a thoughtful action taken by a person or group in memory of their former loved ones. Therefore, the monument is only a lasting way to express my concern

Monuments also have great psychological benefits. The monument provides a place for people to visit, mourn and commemorate the dead. There is no place to go, and loved ones often struggle to mourn properly. Unhealthy mourning can cause physical stress, let alone emotional and mental health.

The desire to be remembered is a natural human response. It is an innate desire to make the lessons and experiences of your life meaningful to future generations. The architectural monument creates an eternal object, symbolizes a person's life and achievements, and brings meaning and understanding to the future generations of those who have arrived. Take time to visit your local cemetery, look at history and remember the ancestors who created today.
