What Color and Variety do Granite Tombstones Have?

Granite is the most commonly used tombstone material, and there are good reasons. It is one of the oldest stones on earth. It is the second hardest material after diamond. It can be preserved for centuries without degradation.

Chinese granite

Granite is naturally formed by volcanic magma. It is a conglomerate composed of minerals and rocks with various colors and textures. This means that each granite is completely different from the next granite. Due to the random distribution of minerals and rocks, the exact colors, textures, shadows and patterns vary from one granite monument to the next.

The types of granites vary from region to region and may come from North America, South America, Asia, Europe or other parts of the world. Prices fluctuate depending on the availability of colors and other factors.

Almost any style you can think of is feasible, but the ability to achieve some diversity depends on three key factors:

1. Supplier's inventory: some colors are immediately available in your supplier's current inventory, while others must be ordered from regional wholesalers or imported from abroad.

2. Your schedule: are you planning a memorial service in advance or will you need it soon? The choice of color may be limited by the directness of the tombstone.

3. Your budget: how much money can you allocate to the tombstone? As mentioned earlier, rarer colors may be more expensive than ordinary colors. Find the right color for your souvenir.

Here, we provide a general cost range for three different categories of granite colors:

The price range of standard varieties of tombstones is low, including Barry gray and mountain rose. Relatively unique varieties are more expensive than standard varieties, but less than some of the rarest choices. These include absolute black, Coral Rose, mahogany, impala black and Erin green. Exquisite and rare varieties stand out. They are more expensive than other products, including high-quality red, blue pearl, ebony mist, Aurora red and coffee brown.

In addition to the inventory options available, your timeline and budget, you should also consider the life represented by this tombstone. Are they easy to get along with and calm? If so, Pali grey or blue pearl tombstones may be appropriate. People who express their passion may need a high-quality red or mahogany. In either case, choose a color that you and your family like as a lasting symbol of his or her last resting place.
